Over the course of this journey, we have paused amid the oak and ash trees that grow in the forest, hidden from the road. We have also found the ruins of dry stone walls, the shadow-lines of farmland now reclaimed by nature.

Antoni Gaudí said “virtue lies in the mid-point” and the word “Mediterranean” means exactly that: “the middle of the Earth”. The way the sunlight shines on the shores of the Mediterranean puts objects in relief, its light revealing the fusion of forms that have emerged from great cultures.
The Mediterranean is more than a geographic location. It is also a spiritual place that fuses the symbolic heritage of each person touched by Western culture, not only of those who live within its frontiers ringed by oaks and ash trees, but also of those who, by choice or by nature, do not define their boundaries in terms of territory.

Identity

The Mediterranean is more than just a name, it is the crossroads of cultures. On it we navigate through history, dropping anchor to view of a Roman Temple and diving down to find a broken piece of a Phoenician amphora. It is a place of Homeric sunsets, where the Gods dwell.

Its traditions are passed down, its valuable customs are shared, transmitted and preserved over centuries for the benefit of future generations.
